Great design, not worth 20 bucks...
Let's make this clear right away before we get to the bad stuff: Rovio has put together a product that is incredibly clever, beautifully designed, and one that will actually please old-school transformers fans like myself. Hiring Vince DiCola to do the soundtrack was a nice touch. However, the shine wears off quickly when you realize how horribly imbalanced it is. There are too many timers, and almost no way to generate coins after you hit level 25 (which, let's face it, is pretty early). What this means is that to keep playing, you will need to spend a minimum of 15 bucks (I figure about 5 each) just to unlock the next three areas, and God only knows how much they'll ask you to spend after that. Go ahead and try it, you'll see what I mean. Whatever coins you might generate on your own are instantly used to repair or upgrade your 'bots (they don't heal themselves), essentially handcuffing your ability to go further without paying a huge amount. Sorry Rovio. I may love Megatron, but I don't have a Mega-wallet. I'd rather you be up front and sell me a more balanced game for the price of 5-10 bucks than this see you try to endlessly siphon money out my pockets like energon. I appreciate the work you guys did putting this together. However, the steep, hidden price tag comes off as more than a little insincere.

This is the Transformers game every fan should have.
Let me start by saying that I was not interested in this game when it was announced. I didn't follow the news for it and I already had it in my head that it would be just like AB Star Wars. A re-skinned Angry Birds with gimmicky features. I couldn't have been more wrong. Rovio has proven that they can do more than just slingshots and green pigs with Angry Birds. First, this game is an amazing fan service. The soundtrack alone reminds me of Transformers before it was ruined. That's right, this isn't just based on the Bayformers, it has Gen-1 characters like Soundwave, Starscream (who actually look like they should, although with a pig head) and Ultra Magnus. Each character has a certain weapon (they do overlap, such as Bumblebee has the same weapon as Starscream) and one of 3 energon special moves. The gameplay is easy enough to learn, although the aiming could use some work. But once you've played for a while the levels become more and more challenging requiring a bit more thought, such as breaking certain blocks to cause a chain reaction instead of attacking individual pigs. It's plenty of fun for both fans of Angry Birds and Transformers alike.

Game was fun until the timers showed up.
(I'm going to say the bad stuff first and then the best) This game would have been better if the timers were eliminated or at-least 50% faster it's always timer, timer, timer and more timers taking the fun out of the game. Its expensive to buy and unlock new areas but it even takes longer to to get coins and buy the areas needed to progress through the game because the areas you've completed has a timer to regenerate and the rest of the levels you completed is a coin regeneration giving you coins. Completing a level is a good feeling but fades away because you get less rewards. Upgrading is also a thing because there's a timer so it takes longer, not only that when your robot is damaged you need to repair it but has a timer . This game is literaly a waiting game making you play on other games. There are benefits in this game when your robots are upgraded they show visual changes and high light what has changed also this not an ordinary angry birds game so I'm glad they made a diffrent approach to the game and there are tons of diffrent of robots in the game but expect to see some robot styles you don't like. I rate 3 stars because the timers are everywhere making the progression very slow, the rest is good.

Amazing new version, minor fixes
I love the new version!!! I love that EVERYTHING gets transferred over from the old app exactly as it was. it even saw that I already paid for no ads previously and that applied to the new version for FREE👍👍 Everything is so smooth and quick! I really like the new interesting way to find random players! I have a lot of random players challenging me because of it! When I have one solo play going and it's my turn to make a move the badge will say 2 when I only have one and no other moves to make. When I'm reordering tiles to prepare a potentially good word to play is glitchy, when I expect to move the right letter I want to it chooses the letter next to it to move. Another that's a little more major is where during the transition of going into chat it will freeze up going from a game into chat. I believe the other fix is turning smart match on or off as an option just like community match and in the old version. In my opinion, community match is much better and more desired by players. I only used smart match maybe 4-5 times in the time I've been playing it for almost 4 years on the previous version. Over all this version is a must to download!!!

Great update, but some oddities...
First, I wasn't even aware of this 'new' app. I play WWF daily and usually auto-download the new updates, but heard today that it's a new app. Not sure why it didn't update and replace my old version, but I had to manually delete the old app and download the new one. Very odd. Maybe because I switched to iPhone 6?

Second, this is a great update overall. Much smoother, cleaner, and snappier. Chat is also much improved, the old chat would hide portions of your longer messages so you had to clumsily scroll which sucked.

Some nuisances:

- The "new" blue strip on the app icon is ugly and needs to go. Totally unnecessary.

- There's no option to disable vibrate when you're notified of it being your turn. Super annoying to have your phone vibrate constantly for game moves. Happy to have the option to do so, but at least present us the option to disable this feature.

- After you make a move, "Create Game" at the bottom of the board flashes annoyingly. It doesn't need to be there in the first place. It's too prominent. But at least don't make it flash/blink.

- The tile bag and word strength features are lame. Tools for cheaters and lazy players. Was better when you had to pay for them which at least somewhat prevented people from using them.

- The ads are all blurry non retina resolution. Zynga shouldn't accept ads not in retina format. It looks tacky.

Right ON!!!
In my personal experience I have found "updates" (no iOS 8 mentioned) to sometimes be worse than the first version. However, this one is superb!!! It is so user friendly, has everything you could want within the app, I.e. Word strength , dictionary, and it tells you when the word is not, well, a "word" which saves so much time! And I have found that it works with the horrific iOS 8 unbelievably well! When I updated to iOS 8 ( which you realllly shouldn't do, just my
Opinion) all of my chat messages within the game would disappear or would appear not to post, as well as my opponents' and I would have to reboot my phone continuously to see them for 1 post and then, again and again. So, thank you "new" words with friends. What a wonderful gaming experience !!! If there were more stars, a definite 10+!!!!!

Ehh
Honestly it's no better than the other don't touch the white tile game if not worse. Reasons being.
1) it's no more responsive than the other, this 1 does like giving me tiles I know I haven't touched tho... And a lot of times miss tiles I have touched.
2) I've never crashed the other one. This one if you are unlucky enough to click the green space at the end you crash it. Which is horrible when you get a high score at like 7.2s. Which brings to another point
3) the leader board, the leader board should either be taken down or fixed. Cause let's all agree that no human can click the 50 tiles in less than a like 5 seconds which sub 6 seconds would be insane. Much less the sub 1 second scores that are there. If their is a leader board might as well make it worth the time to look at.
4) ads make you lag as well as logging into Game Center which well makes you lose most of the time.
5) yes the movement is smooth and their are no sharks or shoes but that's besides the point. When the other game you are obviously running across some sort of bridge to not get eaten by the shark.
6) This doesn't have long run which is the best mode on the other, because plainly I like to see how far I can get without messing up. Not an increasing speed till the game doesn't pick up 1 of your taps.
So over all its a 2 I would rather play the other one which I would give a 4 both need improvements to the lag.

Awesome
It really is pretty much the same thing as don't step the white tile but it does play a lot smoother and the menus are a lot easier to navigate. The reason it's four stars though is that there's something that really messes you up (probably the majority of the time I mess up it's this) that I don't believe is supposed to be like that. The black tiles are solid black without any sort of outline. The problem with this, is when there's a long string of black tiles in a row it gets difficult to tell how many they are, because it's more of a black line than a string of black tiles. Add some sort of outline or border to them and the game would be perfect.

P.S. I've found that there actually is a border between black tiles but it's almost invisible. If it's at the beginning while there stopped and you look hard you can see it but when the games going and you need to think fast on how many there are it's invisible. You can't see it clearly at all. I'd suggest just like you made the border between white tiles black you make that border between black white (negative). That way it would look nice and smooth still in straight black and white and you could have a clear divider.

This game is awesome ad addicting. It's a game of strategy and fast reflexes. There are three modes, classic, arcade, and zen.

• When playing classic mode you tap all the black tiles until you reach a green area at the top. It times you until you reach the top. When you reach the top it shows you how long it took you to finish and what your best time is.

• The arcade mode is when the screen moves upward automatically. There is no time limit in this mode. You just have to try to get all the black tiles in order until you make a mistake like miss a black tile or tap on a white tile. So when you make a mistake it's game over and it shows you how many black tiles you got and what your best is.

• In zen mode it counts down from 30 seconds and you have to get as many black tiles as you can before time runs out. Whether the time runs out or you tap on a white tile it shows you how many you got and your best.
